Tribute
Darcy Leigh Graham (nee Bishop) — February 20, 1968 – September 25, 2024
With profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Darcy, surrounded by love and family at home. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Bruce; children, Holly and Fisher; sister Tracy Campbell, brother Douglas Bishop, brother-in-law Mark Campbell, brother-in-law Adam Pankhurst, nephews Morgan Campbell and Rob Scott, and niece Kaitlyn Scott. Darcy was predeceased by her parents, Doug and Ann Bishop, and sister-in-law, Susan Scott.
Darcy’s life was a vibrant tapestry of love, art, and adventure. Her infectious joie de vivre, creative spirit, and generous heart touched countless lives. As a devoted mother, wife, friend, and artist, she leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and beauty.
Born with a spark, Darcy illuminated the world around her. Her artistic passions included painting, pottery, and design. She had a unique gift for finding beauty in everyday objects and transforming them into something extraordinary. Her artwork reflected her zest for life, and her love for the people and world around her.
She cherished her lifelong friendships forged at elementary school in Brockville, Ontario, and at Brentwood College on Vancouver Island. Darcy’s remarkable journey was filled with memorable moments from her youthful escapades at Lake of the Woods, to her sorority days at McGill University, to her artistic explorations at Savannah College of Art and Design. Darcy nurtured connections from every phase and chapter of her life that transcended time and distance.
As a beloved friend, Darcy was a constant source of inspiration, support, and laughter. Her love for life’s simple pleasures – sharing stories, cooking, and savoring wine on the deck – brought joy to those around her. Darcy had the special ability to draw people to her and connect those around her.
In the words of those who loved her, Darcy was “a dreamer, an artist, and a true original.” Her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift all who knew her.
Thank you to the caring staff at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria and Lady Minto Hospital on Salt Spring Island.
